Good morning!

I have worked third shift (AKA, the Graveyard shift) for many years. In fact, I did this for most of my life as an adult. If you have ever worked that shift for any period of time, you understand how you can lose track of day and time. Everything tends to blur together.

During this time, I would regularly say, “good morning” to people. Even in the evening. After all, I just woke up at 6 pm. To me it was morning.

I received a lot of comments and looks. For a while, I would apologize and correct myself.

Then I started to correct my thinking instead of my words.

Psalm 30:5 says “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

I want to live in the joy that God provides. Yes, there will be times of sorrow, but I want to have my focus on the good. I like to see the glass half-full, not half-empty. There are many other verses in the Bible that speak about the joy that God gives to us.

So I started to say it more often. When I get confronted now, I simply say: “I have joy. The Bible says that joy comes in the morning. So it must be morning.”

So, start saying “Good morning.” No matter what time it is!

Question: How do you show joy?
