First of all, thank you for being a loyal client of Podcast Guy Media, LLC!
Our goal is to make the process of producing a podcast as easy as possible. Part of this is, obviously, taking care of the post production for you. Another part can be provided by adding one-on-one coaching to explore ways to improve your podcast (whether that is conducting better interviews, planning episodes, or other strategic elements in your podcast workflow). A third way we like to help is by providing resources to help you make improvements.
Below, you’ll find resources to help you with different aspects of your workflow without the investment of one-on-one personal coaching.
Microphones:
Here are some microphones I can recommend (with Amazon affiliate links):
Heil PR-40 – This is my current microphone. It works really well, but has a higher price tag than some of the others. As a podcasting microphone, this is probably a 9 out of 10 in sound quality.
Electrovoice RE320 – This would also be a 9 out of 10 in sound quality, but I haven’t used it myself. It has a little less bass, and I’ve heard of several podcasters switch to this from the Heil PR-40 because of this. Again, a higher price point.
Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB – I used this for a couple years before upgrading to a Heil PR-40. It’s a good microphone that will get you probably a 7/8 out of 10 in sound quality, but a lot cheaper than the Heil or Electrovoice.
Samson Q2U Handheld Dynamic USB Microphone – I haven’t used this one, but I’ve heard several people say the quality is about the same as the ATR2100. It’s usually less expensive, but the ATR2100 also has a lifetime warranty.
